Moore Racing regular Mike Gardiner will be joined by 2007 British GT Champion Alex Mortimer for the full season, with the aim of winning the Championship outright.
Alex Mortimer says “After pursuing a number of FIA GT1 opportunities for 2008 where we could not put a deal together this offer to drive a proven car similar to the one that I won the BGT Championship in last year is too good an opportunity to pass up. The support of Ramada Encore and Trucksmart has made this deal possible. I’m looking forward to applying what we learnt last season to make this a championship winning combination. It was Moore Racing’s first year in British GT last year and they have definitely evolved into a respected team in a short period of time.”
Mike Gardiner comments “I’m delighted to be driving with Alex who showed both the maturity and composure to win the British GT Championship last year. It’s also great to enter into a fourth season with Moore Racing who last season ran the Viper and our BMW M3 in which we won the Britcar Production S1 Champtionship”.
Moore Racing will use its considerable endurance and GT experience to achieve reliability and performance in the challenging Britcar events. Founder and Manager, Richard Moore said “We are very pleased to be working with Alex this season to develop the GT3 viper into a race winner. The competition is varied in Britcar and that will lead to keenly contested results, based upon pit and fuel strategy, as well as outright pace.”
