Qualifying was largely irrelevant and Gary started the car in the wet and gloomy conditions that prevailed at race start. The fuel efficiency of the Honda and the rules on driver maximum percentages dictated a change at half distance. Gary maintained a steady pace and handed the car over to resident Professional Phil.
The conditions clearly suited the front wheel drive Honda as it circulated quicker than the GT4 Aston Martins. With the other Class 4 cars running into various difficulties the path was left clear for a fine class win and a 13th overall result. Although with four laps to go one car changed to slick tyres and went immediately faster, for the rest of the runners it was a fully wet race the whole distance.
