With Phil elsewhere Dave ran both qualifying sessions and turned in a creditable performance qualifying of 11th in GT3 against highly experienced gentlemen and professional drivers. With a three way battle on-going for the championship, it was important as guests to not get in the way and avoid damage to the just rebuilt car.
For the first few laps of the Saturday race Dave stayed out of trouble and gained valuable track time in the car. As the race stabalised, Dave took the opportunity to carefully pick his way clear of the GT4 battle and settled into a good rhythm. With the pit window nearing closeure, the team brought the car in and sent it on its way untouched 45 seconds later. This left Dave to run to the flag and build up time in the car, ultimately finishing 12th with the car in mint condition aside from a problem with the paddle shift system, forcing the usage of manual gear selection.
On Sunday morning rain and Phil Keen arrived at the track and not necessarily in that order. On a drying track Phil immediately headed the time sheets in front of Aaron Scott in the AGB Viper. This was achieved without the paddle shift that had shutdown again. With the paddle shift non-operational and the main objectives of the weekend achieved Dave decided to reluctantly withdraw the car, rather than risk significant gearbox damage. Leaving the opportunity of more races in 2009.
